And more grapes.
It takes a lot of grapes to make wine. And a lot of people to help those beautiful grapes along. John is lucky enough to have plenty of both.
And I was lucky enough to be invited for the day. I got to see the first Chardonnay grape harvest and have some sweet summer corn on the bbq- does it get much better?

Food For All Farms
Nicer people couldn't be asked for. Really.
Not only do Maeve and Miles invite me and my camera over, but they let me ask a gazillion questions, play in the string bean patch and send me home with a car loaded down with zucchini and beets. Oh, and they donate home-gown, hand picked veggies to the homeless shelter every week. Miles told me last week that if he could just grow and share his food instead of selling it, that would be ideal. Amazing.
That's Mr. Banga on the right, not a bad dude himself. Grows the BEST carrots at the market, hands down.
